This is what you need to know to prepare your oral presentation for next Monday or Wednesday.

Imagine that you made a journey to three different places, for example Pica, Matilla and Huara. You have to narrate it to the class.

Include big numbers to describe distances.
Include the related vocabulary in the booklet. Don't only describe the places, also say what you did (I expect that you use verbs).
Include a small map and give directions and say where some places are, using the prepositions. (between, near, accross from, etc.)

It's important that you present visuals because your classmates have to feel that you really went there. You can describe a real journey, partly real or invent it completely. There are some websites where you can get ideas and pictures for your slideshow. You can use google to search for pictures. Here's a website where people post journals telling their experiences. click here

Start your presentation with a short introduction.

Finish it with a conclusion. A good idea is saying what you liked the most about the journey and what you like the least.

This is what we are going to do in the Lab today.

Do you remember I told you about preparing an oral presentation. Well, I haven't given you the instructions yet because I want you to practise some vocabulary first. That is the idea of today's class: practising some vocabulary and structures.

There is a wonderful website with an online English course. It's called ompersonal.

On unit 17 there are time expresions and directions. There is also the oportunity to practise the past tense of the verb be.

Dear students:

Good morning and welcome to a new week of class (shorter than usual, but good anyway). I hope you have had a relaxing weekend with your families on this special date.

I think the conditionals are not very clear, so I decided to do a revision actvity about it.

I found a very nice website where some students (from other countries) wrote very interesting sentences. This is what you have to do: Invent nice sentences using the unreal conditional. For example: If I were a fruit I would be an apple because I'm a very simple person. Now it's your turn...

Change of classrooms

Hi folks, do you recognize me?

Well, here is all you should know about the change of classrooms.

Mondays: F-3
Tuesdays: LC-4
Wednesday: CM-6 (third floor CEMDIS building)
Thursday: F-3
Friday: E-10 Economía building

These are our classrooms and will not change (unless extremely necessary). The change is good because these new rooms are not so noisy.

About the Lab class asignment

Okay people, I'm going to explain what your task is.

You have to prepare a short oral presentation about something you listen at http://www.elllo.org. There are many articles in the "Audio Archive " section. The idea is to filter the message, not to repeat the message as it is.

Example: Let's imagine you listen to Ian speak about his experience "my friends and I, we were waiting at Buckingham Palace for quite a long time and we had all our best clothes on: our ties, our shirts, our trousers. We had very clean shoes..."

When you present in front of the class you can say this: "...I listened to Ian. He went to Buckingham Palace with his friends, but they had to wait for a long time. They were wearing their best clothes (ties, shirts, trousers) and their shoes were very clean...."

You can listen to this example with my voice (:P) here.

You have to prepare this oral presentation for Monday and must be 2 minutes long and can't be less than two minutes (I have a stopwatch)
